Hotel Arlberg Lech, Austria
Originating as a guesthouse, Hotel Arlberg is now a friendly and luxurious retreat with 51 rooms and suites. Located in the heart of the desirable Austrian resort of Lech, the hotel is surrounded by mountains and it has a strong spa and wellness offering.
The project vision was to redefine this iconic landmark and develop a concept, reflecting its history and regional context in an unmistakable way. Behind its traditional facade, the hotel impresses with its exceptionally charismatic interior design and exclusive luxury, which perfectly corresponds with its unique Alpine-inspired ambience. The corner profiles managed to solve glare-free illumination of these precious surfaces while adding depth and dimension to rooms and suites.
Spa areas were further developed to amplify sensations of recuperation through hollistic design. Organic shapes such as Zero Round were used to highlight surface haptics but also convey a sense of circulation and cycles.
The Manhattan Profile in copper leaf adds organic and soothing illumination in rest pods and hamornizes with polished oak surfaces. The project won the German Design Award 2020 in the category Excellent Interior Architecture
